French Marigold - Tagetus petula
French marigolds are beautiful ornamental garden annual plants. They are bushy and compact with small flowers and a neat overall appearance. Plant height is over a foot tall, and flower types vary from single to semi-double to fully double.
Marigolds have a wide color range, and are available in both solid and bi-colored types. Solid colors include maroon red and yellow, bi-colors include red and yellow mix. Somewhat smaller and more compact, elegant and eye catching, they have relatively demure flowers. They have fantastic aroma.
How to grow Marigolds:
1) Marigolds need lots of sunshine, Though they grow in almost any soil. they thrive in moderately fertile, well-drained soil.
2) Sow seeds directly into your flower garden, cover them with fine garden soil and sprinkle water.
The seeds germinate easily.
3)Separate seedlings when they are about 2 inches tall.
4) Plant them in pots of loose soil or transplant them into the garden. Space them about a foot apart.
